__—*—__—Funorb Olympics Official Thread__—*—__—

Hey everyone, and welcome to a new event I'm trying to kickstart! There has been a recent revival in the community, and I'm here to continue driving the competition and fun we all used to share with...

The Funorb Olympics - P2p 2016

- We will have an Olympics 2 times per year (f2p and p2p) The best Orbers will face off in randomly chosen games to prove who is indeed the true (current) champion of gaming on Funorb!

- The rules on the next post are preliminary, so any suggestions are appreciated

- The games have been selected. Each game will be played for one week. Points are assigned depending on what rank you come in that week. The dates and games are listed below! (Start date: October 9th, 2016).

Voting Results

I will hold a vote to remove one game and add another. Please post your vote on this thread, and I will add your vote. The game with the most votes to be removed (from the 8 selected), will be taken off to begin the games. You may choose any other game on Funorb to be added to the list, just vote for it (include game mode if you want)! The game with the most votes before the competition begins will be added in place of the one removed.

Remove
5 Votes - The Track Controller (LOSES!)

Add
3 Votes - Torquing (WINS!)

Scoring

The scoring will be a slight modification to the original Funorb Olympics single-player scoring system, found here. This system is based on an exponential equation, and was used to reward placing high in the leaderboard, but not quite as much as the original Olympics. Your ranking will be determined by the sum of points you get for each game from each week.

1st --- 100
2nd --- 77
3rd --- 61
4th --- 47
5th --- 37
6th --- 29
7th --- 22
8th --- 17
9th --- 14
10th --- 11

11th --- 8
12th --- 6
13th --- 5
14th --- 4
15th --- 3

Rules

Single-Player (Weeks 1-8)

1) --- The Funorb Olympics will happen 2 times a year from now on (one p2p, one f2p). Each season will span 11 total weeks

2) --- At the beginning of each season, I will generate 6 random numbers between 1 and 44 (each number corresponding to a given game). 8 games will then be selected as main events.

3) --- If a game has more than 1 game mode, a random number will be generated to select one of the modes.

4) --- For 3 weeks, the first 2 games will be played. For the next 3 weeks, the next 2 games will be played, etc.

5) --- The goal is to score the highest score in those games for the 3 week span. Points will be assigned (using the Olympics points table) to each player according to the rank they achieved.

6) --- The competition will span 9 weeks, and after that, all but 4 players will be eliminated.

Multiplayer (Weeks 9-10)

1) --- The “playoffs” begin. The 1st ranked player will be matched up with the 4th ranked player. The 2nd ranked player will be matched up with the 3rd ranked player in a semifinal, multiplayer showdown.

2) --- To win the semifinal, a player must claim 2 multiplayer wins. Essentially, it is a best 2/3 series across 3 different multiplayer games.

3) --- Each player gets to select a multiplayer game of their choosing. For each multiplayer game selected, a player must win 3/5 matches to claim a multiplayer win for the series. Note - This means if you win 3/5 matches on a given game, you get 1 multiplayer win to contribute towards the best 2/3 series.

4) --- In the event that there is a tie after two multiplayer games (series is tied 1-1), a 3rd multiplayer game must be selected using a random number generator (must be done by an outside party). Whoever wins the best 2/3 series in multiplayer games moves on to the finals.

5) --- The 10th week is the finals. The winners of the semifinals will move on to compete in multiplayer games much like the semifinals, except this time it’s best 3/5 series. To claim 1 win in the series, a player must win a best 3/5 match in the multiplayer game chosen.

6) --- Finalists will switch off choosing a multiplayer game. 1st game is chosen by the higher seeded player. 2nd game is chosen by lower seeded player. This continues until somebody has won 3 multiplayer games, EXCEPT...

7) --- If the finals match is tied 2-2, then a random number generator will be used (again, must be generated by an outside party) to select the final multiplayer game. The winner of this all-stakes match will be crowned the Funorb Olympic Season Champion!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Rules

Additional Rules (For Complicated Situations)

1) --- If players cannot agree on the settings of the game, then the default settings will be used.

2) --- The higher seeded player always chooses the multiplayer game first during the series, unless they wish to choose second, then they may allow the lower seeded player to choose first.

3) --- If players decide to veto the randomly chosen multiplayer game, they can do this as many times as they like. As long as 1 player want to keep the game though, it must be chosen.

4) --- If the randomly generated multiplayer game is one of the multiplayer games that has already been played during the series, then a new random game will be generated.

5) --- All multiplayer matches will be unrated

For Difficulty in Multiplayer Scheduling

1) --- If somebody must leave during a multiplayer match, they automatically forfeit that game. Note - you may still be in the competition if it is your first loss (or 2nd in the finals).

2) If a player cannot load the game, they forfeit that match.

3) --- If players have trouble organizing a time to compete in a multiplayer match, disqualification can occur. This is rather complicated to enforce, so a set of guidelines has been put in place

------- (a) -------
Players will try to organize matches themselves for the first 5 days of the week (up through Friday). It is heavily encouraged to finish all games before these 5 days are up
------- (b) -------
If all multiplayer matches have not been completed by Friday, players must post at least 3 different 2 hour windows that they are available on the weekend on this thread.
------- (c) -------
Failure to post by the end of Saturday automatically disqualifies you from the competition (even if you can't make a time, it is encouraged to at least post times you can try and make to keep you qualified).
------- (d) -------
Failure to show up to one of your given times (while the other person does) automatically disqualifies you from the competition.
------- (e) -------
You may not be more than 15 minutes late to one of your given times, otherwise you will be disqualified. If you post on this thread within 15 minutes of one of your times, saying you will be late, you have up to 30 more minutes from that post until you are disqualified.
------- (f) -------
In the event that both players post times they are available, and none of those times match up, and the players cannot resolve their differences no matter what, the Monday following that week will hold a 1-day single-player competition of a randomly chosen game. Highest score come Tuesday wins. Video or screenshot evidence needed of active score.
